Fronted by vocalist Andy Paul, England’s melodic hard rockers SCREAM ARENA is finally ready with their self-titled debut album!

The United Kingdom has always provided its own twist on the US art form that is rock ‘n’ roll, from The Rolling Stones on, through Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, The Who, Queen, Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden et al. And drawing on such greats amongst others, England’s Scream Arena take a brand of melodic hard rock with metal undertow and give it a firm twist, balancing now with the classic. A rare feat.
Formed by lyricist Andy Paul and going through the usual line-up changes until arriving at the motley but right crew the band is today, Scream Arena is a response to both the fey indie bands masquerading as “rock bands” in Britain and the studied off the shelf misery of so many metal bands championed by the fashion conscious, Scream Arena is simply a full tilt hard rock band with a lyrical slant towards narrative storytelling. “We are so tired of Smiths retreads and rewatered workings of The Clash being sold to us as the future of rock music”, says frontman Andy Paul. “It was time to say “enough”.”
The catalyst for the Scream Arena debut album was famed US rock producer/musician Paul Sabu taking the band under his wing and guiding them along the way. Sabu was responsible for bringing the idea of a cover of the Elvis Presley classic “Heartbreak Hotel” to the table and being keen students of history and believing that an acknowledgment of the roots allows the way ahead to be clear, the band agreed and with Sabu crafted a nod and a wink to the King. Andy recalls, “We saw no real reason behind covering “Heartbreak Hotel” but as we got into the idea we saw and appreciated the logic and indeed the song”.
The remainders of the songs on the album are self-penned originals with the basic premise being that of telling a tale, be it real or imagined, but wishing to draw audience with ideas that they can relate to. Thus full tilt opener “Born Ready” is Tarantino made rock & roll, while “The Price of Love” is based on a very true tale where the names are changed to protect the badly behaved.
Granted the truth or otherwise lyrically is not always apparent but it is there, so the hugely melodic “Forever” turning on its big riff and chorus details the thought that chasing dreams can mean better ones, more realistic ones, get left behind, while the melodic undertow of the “Racing to the End of Night” wonders at the lengths that some will go for some small measure of fame, and in a world that prizes celebrity above greatness that is a pertinent question. Humour also rears a Python- esque head as with the horror convention on head stance of the intense yet melodic “House of Pain”. Never anything wrong with a tongue planted in cheek from time to time.
This is a beginning for Scream Arena, a British band that charts its own course and does not apologize for such confidence. This is hard rock from the heart and soul and all Scream Arena ask is “listen to the album cos rock and roll is back on the menu …”.

When SEA released their self-titled debut album in 2014, Sweden Rock Magazine gave them 8/10 and mentioned Tony Iommi and Bruce Dickinson. Rock It from Germany likewise gave the album 8/10 and compared it to Soundgarden. Scream from Norway gave a blistering 5/6 review and categorized SEA with Rival Sons. SEA also played a tremendous show at Copenhell.

The band’s raw and challenging style is a blend of the classic heavy rock from the giants of the past and their own unique and powerful expression. Combining strong vocals, heavy riffs, catchy choruses, twin guitars and a mission to keep the guitar led rock alive, the band a huge adrenaline boost into the heavy rock scene.

Their sound is reminiscent of rock legends like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Thin Lizzy, but with the touch of a young, hungry Scandinavian band in their twenties.

There are very few Danish rock bands who delivers their music as uncompromising  as Shotgun Revolution. This is a band who insists on making varied, playful and above all, well played rock ‘n’ roll that can stand on its own feet when compared to the giants of the genre. With hundreds of concerts all over the world from America to China, and even a visit to the international troops in Afghanistan,  Shotgun Revolution is a group of international quality and with their third album “All This Could Be Yours” they’ve never been stronger.

With “All This Could Be Yours” the band delivers dirty rock ‘n’ roll, untamed punk rock and metal, while their love for the acoustic ballad is still intact. For songwriting, the band sought new inspiration in the United States, where guitarist Martin Frank has been to Kentucky co-writing with the hard rock group Black Stone Cherry on the first single “City Of Fire”. In addition Shotgun Revolution is going to support, Black Stone Cherry on their Scandinavian tour in end February 2016

During the recording process the band’s rhythm guitarist decided to leave the band to focus on his own music and his future family expansion, which questioned the band’s continued existence. A process which the band came out strengthened by. Lead Guitarist Martin Frank explains:

“When a member of the band chooses to leave the” family “, it forces the band members to see each other thoroughly in the eyes … are we going to keep on doing this? And the answer was an earthquake-shaking … YES!”

The album was once again recorded in Copenhagen with Metallica legend Flemming Rasmussen at the wheel, mixed in Los Angeles by Ben Grosse (Slipknot, Depeche Mode, Madonna, Disturbed) and mastered in New York by Ryan Smith (AC / DC).

The band embarks on a massive DK tour starting on March 3rd in Viborg, and 5 weeks on, the album can be purchased – yep 2 months before it is released! Rene Shades of Pretty Maids is standing in as rhythm guitarist at all spring concerts.

Formed late 2009 Israeli thrashers Shredhead are the most hyped name in their local metal scene. Throughout 2010 and 2011 the young band toured Israel extensively with Israel’s leading metal acts – BETZEFER, The Fading, Hammercult among others, their ruthless stage performances and presence earning them an impressive mass of devoted followers and press items. Their debut record titled “Human Nature” was released in Israel in August 2011 to much local and even some international critical acclaim. Produced independently throughout 2011, this record is a rare thrash-metal hell-raiser maintaining the traditional thrash-metal aesthetics of the 80’s combined with modern and relentless sound.

Throughout 2011-2013 Shredhead played shows in Israel and abroad in order to grow their Audience including that In 2012 Shredhead won the Israeli Metal Battle and went on to represent Israel in the Wacken festival Metal Battle in Germany . After coming back from Wacken they did various headline shows in Israel, meanwhile their audience kept growing rapidly. Following their new found exposure They have also done many web and radio interviews in Israel and abroad. Along with all of the above Shredhead started to write and work on a new album, marking a change in the musical direction and an exploration of new musical territories.

During 2014 Shredhead finished their new album “Death Is Righteous” mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (Suicide Silence, The Haunted, Aborted, Sick of It All), supported Biohazard and relocated to Berlin to take the band and the new album to a new level.

Their new album “Death Is Righteous” redefines their musical style, making it more mature, more melodic, more groovy, and subsequently much heavier than anything they’ve done before, which throughout 41 intense minutes blasts away such brute forces that no listener remains unmoved. Ranging from songs that are brutal and fast to laid back and groovy songs all enhanced by lyrics that hit close to home. The name of the album describes the concept, which is that death comes to us all in the end just as it should. These 11 tracks depict the way to self destruction, in all of its aspects and forms in a life that needs to end. In this album they bring what’s true and honest, relentless energy that shows exactly who they are in reality, from the first note to the last word.

From the rainy coast of Bergen, Norway, Silver End resides. Founded in 2012, they have had a remarkable journey to where they are now. The band is a result of four guys with completely different musical backgrounds coming together over the common interest of forming a melodic hard-rock band. Their first year was spent writing music and performing small shows in Bergen. Having honed their music, they headed into the studio where they recorded their first album “Beyond Limits”. After releasing their debut album in the summer of 2013, it opened up a lot of doors. Critics and fans loved the album, bigger shows were played, and the year ended with a support gig for Papa Roach at John Dee in Oslo.
The next two years consisted of playing shows and writing a lot of songs, and in the summer
of 2015 they started recording the second album “Spreading Fire”.
Their lead-guitarist at the felt confident that he could produce the album, so the following year was spent perfecting the album. Spreading Fire was released digitally on all of the biggest platforms in June 2016, with a much heavier sound than before. The album was well received by critics and fans alike, and was especially sought after in the YouTube community to be used in music videos. With the rest of the year booked with shows, the band sadly received notice that their lead-guitarist/producer wanted to call it quits and eventually left the band. A fall with shows lined up turned into a frantic scramble to find someone who could replace him. Auditions were held, and at some point it seemed like an unsurmountable task to find someone to fill the void. The band had almost given up all hope when Cata Babut showed up. The final piece of the puzzle were found, at last. He took the challenge head on, and in february 2017 he got his first show as the new lead guitarist of Silver End. The reactions the band got after the show was that he provided a whole new dimension to the music.

WHAT IS IT?

Sky Of Forever is a Helsinki-based melodic hard rock group featuring musicians from Stratovarius and Tracedawn. Their music is influenced by 1980’s hard rock and the masters of film music. The group is led by singer and songwriter Lauri Hannola.

In SOF’s music one may hear echoes from bands like Bon Jovi, Europe and HIM, but also from composers such as James Horner and Klaus Badelt. One may also hear some modern pop elements in the production made by Tuomas Yli-Jaskari.

Sky Of Forever’s music consists of beautiful melodies, great choruses and magical atmosphere with pop frosting on top. Sometimes, just when you think you’ve heard it all, SOF may take you to great heights with high notes by Lauri Hannola, guitar solos by Roni Seppänen and orchestrations made by conductor Risto Kupiainen. Still, the foundation lies in the great songs.

All of the songs are composed by singer Lauri Hannola, who is also responsible for the song arrangements along with guitarist Roni Seppänen.

WHY?

Sky Of Forever wanted to make a great melodic hard rock album that has no filler songs on it. Everything had to be nailed down with burning passion by the world-class line-up.

The dynamics of the songs are probably one of the most enjoyable things on the record: from time to time, the distorted guitars quiet down and give more space for Lauri’s charismatic voice. The album combines both classic and modern elements, ending up sounding timeless.

The songs take the listener into romantic and almost cinematic moments and scenes. One of the unitive themes on the album is to live with passion, no matter what has happened in the past. The undertone of the debut is upbeat and positive.

Sky Of Forever was founded in spring 2014 by singer/songwriter Lauri Hannola, guitarist Roni Seppänen and drummer Rolf Pilve.

THE LINE-UP

Lauri Hannola is the man behind the vision of SOF. His unique tenor voice and songs wrap it all together.

Roni Seppänen (guitars) and Tuomas Yli-Jaskari (production, additional bass) are known to the rock/metal audience from the Finnish metal group Tracedawn. They have released several albums and toured extensively in Europe.

Rolf Pilve (drums) has been touring around the world with Stratovarius and Joe Lynn Turner.

Jyri Helko (bass) has been recording and touring with metal act Warmen. He also appeared as the bass player for 100 Guitars From Hell, a metal spectacle led by Children Of Bodom guitarist Alexi Laiho.

Risto Kupiainen (orchestrations, piano) has been working as a conductor in such musicals as Billy Elliot, Tarzan and Wicked.

The Copenhagen-based black metal band Solbrud, despite having only one album under its belt, have achieved very much for a band with such an extreme sound like theirs. Solbrud have both played on Copenhell, Roskilde Festival, the nationwide Headbangers Ball tour and even been nominated for the Association Of Danish Music Critics award, “Steppeulven” as “Hope Of The Year”

Denmarks most important daily newspaper Politiken gave the debut album “Solbrud” 5 out of 6 points’ and wrote, among other things “Solbrud is the sound of a blood red wedding between a beautiful and almost dreamy expression on one side and a regular hell chaos on the other side with the lead singer Ole Luks jarring hoarse growl and Troels Hjorth thundering nightmare drums as the bloody spearheads. To the untrained ear rips it little in the cerebral cortex in the beginning. But over time it goes right to the heart.”

On September 15th 2014, SOLBRUD is back with their second full-length release – ‘Jærtegn’, where SOLBRUD has increased the intensity further on again four epic and monumental tracks.

With the help of producer Lasse Ballade behind the mixer console, the band has achieved a massive production that serve the dynamics of the infernal sound, and highlights the contrast between light and shade in the long compositions. An evocative mixture which contains both a solid dose malicious classic black metal, as well as more progressive elements in trance-building song structures.

SOLBRUD asked Johnny Stage (who have worked with danish legendary artists such as Martin Hall and Sort Sol) to look back at the roots of punk and metal when they chose him to tape mastering agents album, which has resulted in a well-rounded and raw analog audio sound.

The Danish text universe is based on a medieval aesthetics, and spells thus the essence of our modern world absurdities, and longing for the primitive and earth, while the fiery album cover, with its mysterious figures visualize an album of great strength and depth. Each track has a running time of between 9 and 16 minutes, so SOLBRUD is not exactly delivering easily accessible radio material.
