Talking about a new wave of punk/garage rock’n’roll?
Rolled Up Sleeves is a young rock group from the city of Århus in Denmark with members between 19 and 21 years old. They have blood on their teeth, and their expressions are raw and very punked!
It’s madness, aggressive physical movements, and party with your friends. It’s Artic Monkeys and The Strokes.
It’s reliable and life-affirming to get the music served so directly and “in your face! It’s all about being happy and to find your place in existence.
Magnus Krag Nielsen
Oliver Alexander Landgren
Søren Schroll Rasmussen
For Rolled Up Sleeves it’s all about the expression. The expression in their music and the expression when performing live! It’s 4 youngsters wildness and frustration that is reflected through fast riffs, as well as heavy repetitive seances. Whatever it’s a ballade or a hard piece of rock music, the band is constantly pursued by psychotic undertones, giving Rolled Up Sleeves an even greater room for their own expression.
The band has already played many underground concerts and is now ready to take the next step!
Their debut EP will be released internationally in early September via Scandinavian Premier Rock/Metal Label Mighty Music.
The video for the first single “Happy & Alone” is made by Tim Gade, who also did the videos for the Danish rock bands Franklin Zoo and Lucer.
Dirty, blackened death/thrash from Sweden. Fueled by vintage sherry and fresh black pots. Devoted live act in pursuit of the perfect gig. Alternately compared to Aura Noir, Satyricon, The Crown and Entombed. This is the sound of the beast, the language of Septekh.
“These guys seriously do not give even one hint of a fuck when it comes to unleashing their fury and with lyrics of such an unprecedented nature, you’ve not only got a beast that’s run rampant, but the remnants of a ravaged cage scattered about where it clawed its way to realms unparalleled in metal music.” – New Noise Magazine
David Wikström (Guitar)
Staffan Persson (Drums)
Patrik Janson (Bass) [Live]
Nils GRZNLS Meseke (Vocals)
SEPTEKH was formed in the autumn of 2008 in a cramped garage in the rustic suburban area of Norrtuna, Järna, Sweden. As the four very different founding members met creatively they found something unique. Their collective musical effort outshone, outclassed and outpaced the sum of its parts.
The newly sprouted group was ready to gig in record time. The 6 track demo of 2009 is a testament to that period. By the time the band had recorded and released its two firsts Eps (Abyss Records), it moved out of its birthing place into an abandoned smithy out on the Dark Island of Mörkö. Most of the band has at one point or another called it home. Now it exists solely to serve SEPTEKH. Here the PLAN in its philosophical and its LP recorded form (Studio 508 Productions / Abyss Records) was put together piece by trembling piece during countless long nights.
And here we are today. The word is spreading. SEPTEKH lurks in a little red house on a big Dark Island, just off the east coast of Sweden. Secretive and singular. Toiling away at their next feat. Ever conscious of the movements of the beast they’ve nurtured. Our protagonists never rest.
Project Evil are mainly a Classic Heavy Metal and Doom Metal band with a lot of effort put into arrangements and melody, with Thrash and Epic Metal elements. The inspiration mainly comes from artists like Iron Maiden, Candlemass, Judas Priest, and Manowar but also from bands as Metallica, Overkill, and Slayer, overall embracing all the Heavy sound.
Each band member of Project Evil has been individually active on the national rock and metal scene for about twenty years but it was only in 2016 that they joined together in the Project Evil band. After little more than a year we started playing live and the excellent feedback we obtained both during and after our shows convinced them to professionally produce this album.
The concept of all the song starts from the lyrics: they really like their music to be some kind of a soundtrack for the stories they tell so that it could help anyone listening to the songs to be attuned to atmosphere of that particular track. Just close your eyes and make a journey through time and space with Project Evil.
Formed in 2008, Shotgun Rodeo are a four piece heavy metal band hailing from the city of Trondheim, Norway. Seamlessly cruising across a sea of metal styles and sub-genres, Shotgun Rodeo surpasses any premeditated sonic expectations that the listener may have had before listening. The band don’t like to be labeled as one genre, but if held at gunpoint they would refer to themselves as ‘Heavy Metal on Steroids’. Following on from their previous EP releases ‘Dead End Massacre’ (2012) and ‘Guilty as Charged’ (2013), the band really picked up some steam with the release of their debut full-length album, ‘World Wide Genocide’ in 2015 and ‘The New Standard’ EP in 2016. These were highly praised by international press and magazines. Labeled as a band that is both nostalgic and forward thinking, Shotgun Rodeo is a band that will appeal to many different listeners from the metal world.
Never afraid the push the boundries, the band are now gearing up to release their second full length album, ‘By Hook Or By Crook’ 24th of August through Mighty Music. The diversity and technical proficiency of the album’s 13 tracks takes Shotgun Rodeo’s sound even further then previous releases. It’s an interesting combination of styles which seems wayward upon first inspection, but overall their sound is incredibly methodical, and it’s this vast range of influence and Shotgun Rodeo’s clear knowledge and love for metal heritage that makes it work. At times, ‘By Hook Or By Crook’ feels like a release that could have been heard on Roadrunner Records during their heyday, but it could equally feel at home with along the likes of modern metal bands as Lamb Of God and Avenged Sevenfold. As only their second full length album Shotgun Rodeo have shown a lot of promise for what is yet to come.
The first single “Fire Up” features guitarist Mike Orlando. D.D. Verni states “I’m psyched to get this disc out, we had a lot of fun and a lot of great players contributed”.
In addition to 18 Overkill full length releases, Verni has 4 releases with his side band The Bronx Casket Co. D.D. Verni continues “so why do a solo record….well I never really stop writing material, and after some time it starts to pile up and take shape and I wonder what it will be. In the past anything that was not Overkill material I would put aside for my other band The Bronx Casket Co, but when I starting pulling these songs together it was clearly not that, and I thought, OK I guess it’s a solo record. The material was kinda Metal and kinda Rock and kinda Punk, so those really are my basic influences.
In Overkill I take all that background and funnel it into our Thrash sound. But these songs were not Thrash but a combination of the other stuff. I would never really have an interest in doing a record that was thrash sounding outside of Overkill, I just don’t think it could be any better. The fun is trying new shit and seeing where it goes for me. I could always do all the instruments myself as I have in the past on projects but thought this could be a good opportunity to try working with some new people. My wife was hearing me thinking out loud and basically said why don’t you just call some guys who’s work you like and see if they would be interested, and so that’s what I did”.

Asphodelia is a dark symphonic metal act founded in 2016 in Foggia, Italy, by Samuela “Samah” Fuiani (vocals and keyboards) and Ruggero “Lordian” Doronzo (guitar), and currently including Davide Ricciardi (bass), Giuseppe Centonza (drums) and Gianni Colonna (guitar). Their sound blends symphonic and choral sonorities, electronics and Mediterranean echoes into a solid metal frame with a strongly dark mood. Their lyrics are usually centered on the theme of the afterlife, on the life and death dichotomy, the fleetingness of time and the misery of the human condition.
The band is named after the asphodel, typical Mediterranean flower connected to the ancient Greek Underworld: in the ancient Greek mythology, the Asphodel Meadows is a place where the indifferent souls, who lived a life of neither good or evil, are sent to live after death.
The band released a promo EP entitled ’Vengeance’ on May 26, 2016, receiving enthusiastic response from their fanbase. In May 2017 they signed a management and booking deal with The Flaming Arts Agency, leading to important stage experiences such as the Female Metal Voices Tour Russia 2017 as main support to The Agonist, Sirenia and Cellar Darling.
Recently, Asphodelia have recorded their debut album “Welcome Apocalyopse” and signed to Denmarks Mighty Music. The band are currently scheduling a European tour in support of the album release.
BEWARE! Here come the new guys on the brutal European death metal scene! And they smell blood and suffering!

The album ‘These Hollow Gods’ is written for all those that live with loss, regret and new beginnings every day. It is reflected in every aspect of our lives, through ego, obsession and self preservation. Every element of the album, from mix, production, photography to artwork, has been created by the band, without compromise. These songs are the result of years of blood, sweat, tears and broken strings.
The title track is about our role models, idols and those that we ultimately view as gods in family, religion, music and celebrity. Those that we worship and devote our lives to, but then reveal themselves to be nothing more than false hope, disappointment and betrayal. The consequences of putting so much faith in to one person or idealism and how it can blind our judgement of what’s wrong and right. This song is about realising the cost and coping with that moment of clarity. Everyone has a ‘hollow god’.
Lee Brueton -Bass/Synth/Keyboard
Harry Mitten – Lead Guitar
Ashley Clark – Rhythm Guitar
Nelson Cancini – Vocals
Born out of a passion to create dark and heavy rock music, Chasing Ghosts was formed by Lee Brueton. Influenced by bands such as Paradise Lost, Anathema, Moonspell and driven by a desire to give the UK rock scene some much needed fresh blood. In contrast to most bands within this genre, ‘Chasing Ghosts’ have carved their own unique sound, with clean vocals and emotive lyrics that are there to be heard and not hidden, compliment and not dominate. Their songs evoke emotions of fear, sadness, loss and regret, entwined within each doom laden guitar riff. Now signed to ‘Mighty Music,’ Denmark’s largest premier rock/metal label, with their album release due out early February 2018.
Recorded by ‘Enter Shikari’ engineer Tim Morris and aired on over 50 radio stations worldwide, the track ‘Fallen From Grace’ became the band’s first official video. The video featured Pixie Le Knot, actress and contortionist from ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Devil Inside’ . It debuted on ‘Amp’d TV’, hosted by Kerrang’s very own Johnny Doom.
The band are Nelson Cancini (Vocals), Lee Brueton (Bass/Synth), Ashley Clark (Rhythm purpose to produce honest and unrelenting rock music. Winners of Ubeat ‘Rock Act of the Year’ 2016, one of the UKs most celebrated emerging music awards.
Chasing Ghosts have played prestigious venues such as the Camden Assembly, Proud Camden, The Craufurd Arms, Bedford Esquires, Hope and Anchor and headlined the O2 Academy 2 Liverpool. A European tour is planned for early 2018 to coincide with their album launch in Copenhagen and festival dates to be announced soon.
“Mirrorland” is the second full-length album of Estate. It is powerful, attractive, mystical epic progressive power metal.
This album is a huge step up for the band. It is heavier and more progressive, but by no means Estate has lost their calling card – the lyrical and romantic melodism.
“Mirrorland”s very diverse but the songs keep the same vibe and are filled with obscure and mysterious atmosphere.
The album has such strong tunes as “Mirrorland”, “Lady Wind”, “The Ghoul” and a dark medium tempo horror story “Springtime”, plus traditional power metal ballads like “Winter Kingdom” and “Silvery Skies”. There is a special three-act opus that is called “Storm of the Age”. It was written under the influence of works of an American writer, Glen Cook, a founder of the dark fantasy genre.
The recordings began in August 2015 and lasted till May 2017 at the band’s own studio. Mixing and mastering is done by band’s guitarist Peter Filevsky.
Guest musicians include Mats Leven (Therion, Treat, and Candlemass) and Mark Boals (Y.Malmsteen, Royal Hunt, and Ring of Fire)
