With support slots for major league bands such as Entombed and Possessed, numerous appearances at underground metal shows around their native Italy and the critically acclaimed demo “Forceful Displacement” from 2012 behind them, the new Italian act Grind Zero is now ready with their debut full length “Mass Distraction”– an album packed with fierce, old school fashioned death metal following the tradition of bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Obituary and Exhumed.
The band began its course towards world domination in late 2011, when longtime friends guitarist Udo Usvardi and bassist Alex Colombo joined up and decided to create music the way, they both had enjoyed it, while growing up. With the addition of the mysterious Dhilorz of Ancient aka Mr. D. on guitar, Alessandro “Rullo” Durini on drums and last but not least vocalist Marco Piras, Grind Zero soon ended up with 9 tracks of old school valued death metal that would become their first assault on the world of metal music, “Mass Distraction”.
The album was recorded at the legendary Alpha Omega studio (Cataract, Mortuary Drape, Ancient) in Como, Italy with producers Alessandro Azzali and Alex Colombo. Songs such as “Blood Soaked Ground”, “Fucked Up Nation” and “War for War” tell first hand stories of society’s ills in modern day Italy revolving around themes such as religion, violence and poverty.
