CHAINFIST is a five-piece Danish metal band formed in 2007, which consists of ex-members of Panzerchrist, Frozen Sun and Infernal Death.

In September 2010 they released their first full-length album “Black Out Sunday” which was praised by several Danish metal-sites e.g. heavymetal.dk that gave them 10/10 stars and commented: “The album is a bomb filled with everything from every drawer, all without being overwhelming or cluttered.”

Since then the band has been playing on various stages in Denmark, building up a solid live-reputation with top-marks from the critics.

Undoubtedly “The Big Four” has been a great inspiration for CHAINFIST, but at the same time the band is incorporating new school heavy metal elements and gripping vocal melodies to make their unique touch on the genre, with bands like Mercenary, Volbeat and Disturbed as references.

In the fall of 2013 the band began the recording of their second album “Scarred” – an album that are the result of intense and spontaneous live-recording sessions to get the most “manhood” out of the drums, guitars and bass as possible.

“Manhood and Downstrokes, this was the main attitude” guitarist Michael Kopietz (ex-Frozen Sun, ex-Panzerchrist) explains.

The album is produced by Michael Hansen (Phonomik) and the band itself, while star-producer Jacob Hansen (Hansen Studios) took care of mix and master.

Jacob Hansen sought a dirty sound, but yet with a mainstream appeal, which was fitting for the old-school riffing’s, powerful leads and melodic vocals that was pivotal for this recording.

Chaos Engine Research was founded in 2007 in Czestochowa (Poland), the current line-up was established in 2009. In 2012 the band began recording its first album, a process that took almost a year.

Recording sessions took place in Perlazza Studio in Opalenica (Poland), under the supervision of Przemysław Wejmann, one of the best producers and sound engineers in Poland. The final lyric touch was done by Daniel Brąś, a translator cooperating with Perlazza Studio. Tue Madsen in Antfarm Studio, Denmark were chosen for mastering and known for his excellent work on bands like Behemoth, Vader, Ektomorf, Dark Tranguillity and Mnemic.

“The cooperation between Przemek and Tue was just a perfect choice and thanks to them the album sounds solid.” Composer and guitarist Marcin explains.

The recordings resulted in a twelve-song concept album entitled “The Legend Written by an Anonymous Spirit of Silence”. In this story the main character can’t come to terms with his untimely and unexpected end. After signing a pact with death he wanders through dark corners of the universe, slowly understanding how deep corruption and evil reach.

Marcin comments: “The lyrics are in the form of drama, stylized for an antique tragedy. The intention of the album is to draw the listeners’ attention to the fact that despite conviction of “internal freedom”, we allow ourselves to be trapped in the media and political manipulation that inflicts its views and convictions, which have nothing in common with reality.”

The goal for Chaos Engine Research is to encourage people to think independently and to stand up to the divisions and barriers that arise only to justify a passive attitude toward the problems of today’s world.

CHABTAN, french metal band from Paris formed in 2011, draws its influences in deathcore and melodic death metal (In Flames, Arch Enemy, Betraying The Martyrs…) and offer a concept based on Mesoamerican mythologies.

The first album “The Kiss Of Coatlicue” represents the mixture of their different influences with the desire to make a modern French metal album. Their interest in Mesoamerican legends helped them to propose a cultural approach to the texts and a mystical atmosphere to their various artworks and soundscapes.

This album was entirely composed and self produced by the band in 2014/2015. The lyrics are inspired by the violent and bloody legends described in the book “Popol Vuh” which was the equivalent of the “Bible” for the Mesoamerican people.

It was recorded by Andrew Guillotin (France) who had previously worked on the first EP “Eleven” released in 2013, and mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordstrom (Sweden) with the main objective to have a powerful and aggressive sound like the Scandinavian can do.

The artwork of the album was designed by Colin Marks (England), from an idea of CHABTAN, and whose style was perfect for the atmosphere they wanted to give their first album.

‘The Kiss Of Coatlicue’ will be released worldwide via Mighty Music May 25th. 2015!

Chaotic Remains consists of a group of six close friends who share the same passion for metal music. Differences in musical influences and tastes among the members has contributed towards creating their own style. This enables the artists to visualize what they want to achieve, and express through their music.

The band brings about various elements of different styles and genres in its tracks which comprise a mixture of melody and heavy riffs whilst delving into aspects of death metal. This can be most closely grouped under ‘symphonic death metal’. Since its debut gig in 2011 the group has featured in a number of gigs and festivals with renowned local and foreign acts.

Chaotic Remains’ debut album, ‘We Are Legion’, was composed by the artists themselves. Having said this, the band sought to have the record professionally produced and mastered by David Depasquale, owner of the reputable SpineSplitter Studio who is highly regarded in the Maltese metal scene.

Music, is an art which unites all the members, and which provides the drive to do what the band loves doing; performing and writing songs.  This album addresses the different practices and beliefs behind Christianity and Satanism whilst portraying the ongoing battle between the two; specifically focusing on the fall and rise of Lucifer. The band always intended to address various religious themes in its lyrics/records, and this album will mark the start of a journey.

CHILDRENN are back, International Exit is their second album, produced by Randall Dunn.

“A musical venture into the dim depths of mankind and the fear mongering of modern day politics”.

CHILDRENN who consist of members who have played with well-known Danish acts such as Sort Sol, Psyched Up Janis, Kloster, and Baby Woodrose followed up their debut album, working with one of the most respected producers in modern alternative music, Randall Dunn.
Dunn has produced albums for such diverse acts as SunnO))), Earth, Wolves In The Throne Room, Six Organs Of Admittance, and Marissa Nadler .

After mixing CHILDRENN’s first album, this time, Randall Dunn flew to Copenhagen and recorded and produced the album in full, at Black Tornado Studios, Copenhagen, mixing it at Avast! Studios, Seattle.

The result is 10 tracks of fiery and glum rock music with influences from 70’s psychedelic rock, kraut rock, black metal, 60’s folk and so much more.

The lyrics, are inspired by the current state of the world, seemingly going down the drain, which is
also reflected in the almost apocalyptic title: “International Exit”.

Vocalist and lyricist Jakob Brixen explains:

“When we wrote the songs for International Exit, Manoj and I were both filled with a mood of demise, which I think emanated from some tendencies and scaremongering in the current zeitgeist that has affected us a lot.
A feeling that everything could fall apart around us. A feeling of anxiety on a personal level and on a political and global level. This is also reflected in the lyrics that revolve around an underlying theme of collapse with elements of decadence, profane madness, self-destruction, denial, anger, deep darkness and longing for deliverance.”

Their debut album “Animale” was released in 2016, and was critically acclaimed, internationally and domestically.  The band has performed at festivals such as Roskilde, Northside and Copenhagen Psych Festival in addition to a bunch of more intimate live shows.

CHILDRENN also performed at the Danish showcase: Spot Festival, where Rolling Stone Magazine legend David Fricke watched their blistering show and had them on his personal top 5 for that festival.

“International Exit” will be released on Mighty Music on October 20th 2017 on CD, LP and digital

From Norway, in a city called Hell (Yes, it’s true. Google it.), comes a new and epic metal project that will take you on a journey into the future. Welcome to the world of Chontaraz.

The year is 2068 and people are suffering from The Great War, that destroyed our world as we know it. But from the remains rises a prophecy. CONTRITION is a modern metal band based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The five band members established CONTRITION in the ages of 15-17 years in late 2009. Now the band is ready with their debut album ‘Reflections’ – a collection of superior technical riffs, brilliantly timed break-downs, brutal but emotional growls and atmospheric melodic passages! 

Until now, CONTRITION has released the four track EP ‘Oath of Iniquity’ (2010), and after winning the Mighty Fight Night in 2011 the band released the Jacob Hansen produced single ‘Lycanthropy’ (2011) via Mighty Music. In January 2013 CONTRITION finished recording the band’s full length debut album entitled ‘Reflections’.

In spite of the members young age, ‘Reflections’ shows a mature band, that master their technique to perfection. With a progressive approach, CONTRITION contributes with new and different view on the modern metal genre. The band’s characteristic sound is founded on a vast variety of different influences that stretch from the various metal sub-genres such as Thrash, Groove, Core to more progressive and melodic influences.

Corona Skies, hailing from Finland, plays hard rockin’ melodic metal. This six-piece delivers a unique mix of smashing guitar riffs, hyper-skilled keyboard athleticism on rock solid rhythm section, completed with powerful multi-layered vocals. With the current line-up, the band has been around since 2009 and played dozens of shows in Finland. Since releasing a self-financed EP in 2011, the band’s songwriting and musicianship have evolved into a whole new level which can be heard on band’s debut album “Fragments of Reality”. From ambient, atmospheric soundscapes to hard-shredding solos and huge orchestrations, the versatility of the album really emphasizes what this band is all about. Although the music itself cannot simply be described in terms of a single genre (yes, we know it’s a cliché), some elements from classic hard rock, power metal, progressive metal and thrash metal are definitely there.

The album production took place at Noise For Fiction Studios in the guidance of Mr. Joona Lukala. The goal was to create an album full of different moods and nuances that would lyrically and thematically reflect different aspects and events of life (hence the album title). The biggest challenge, for better or for worse, was to keep all pieces together, to turn these “fragments” (songs) into an album that is musically coherent and on focus. After countless hours locked in the studio, we can shout it out, loudly and proudly – we reached our goal!

Christopher John Holmes, born June 23, 1958 in Glendale, California, is a heavy metal guitarist and songwriter who grew up in La Canada, California. Holmes started his musical career in the Pasadena, California area in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He is best known as the lead guitarist of heavy-metal band W.A.S.P. Together with Blackie Lawless and Randy Piper, he was one of the founding members of the band. Holmes was a member of W.A.S.P. first from 1982 to 1990, and again from 1996 to 2001.
W.A.S.P.

Prior to meeting Blackie Lawless and Randy Piper, and joining W.A.S.P., Holmes played guitar with Los Angeles bands Buster Savage, LAX, and Slave. Holmes joined W.A.S.P. in 1982, and remained with the group until 1990. In 1996 Holmes rejoined W.A.S.P., and remained lead guitarist until 2001. Holmes has not played with W.A.S.P. since.

Randy Piper’s Animal
Holmes was contacted by friend and former bandmate Randy Piper to join Piper’s new project, Animal. Holmes quickly relocated to Ohio to prepare for Animal’s upcoming “900 lb Steam” tour. The tour was considered successful, and after its conclusion, Animal recorded tracks for a new album.

After Animal
After Holmes returned to Los Angeles in late 2003, he began working with several Southern California-based metal groups, producing and contributing guitar tracks. In 2007, Holmes was involved with the filming of a Randy Rhoads documentary directed by Peter M. Margolis, which has yet to be released. Holmes appears briefly in a 2009 episode of VH1’s Rock Docs, “Do It For The Band: The Women of Sunset Strip.” In the Summer of 2009 Holmes released Secret Society’s “Death by Misadventure.”

Where Angels Suffer and solo career
In 2010, he joined Where Angels Suffer with Randy Piper on guitar, Steve Unger (Metal Church) on bass, Rich Lewis (Animal), on vocals, and Stet Howland on drums (Blackfoot, Lita Ford, Killing Machine, Belladonna, Impellitteri, Sister and W.A.S.P.). Ira Black has since replaced Piper. The band toured Europe for the first time in 2011.

On November 26, 2012, Chris released his first solo album Nothing to Lose and decided to produce, manage and distribute it himself along with his wife. After the success of his first album, Chris started recording his second solo album, Shitting Bricks. On May 2nd, 2015, Chris Holmes released his second album worldwide and had his first concert in Nantes, France with his new band ‘Mean Man’ which consists of Thomas Cesario Guitar, Pascal Bei Bass and Folkert Beukers on the drums . They are touring actually in Europe .Two of the songs were filmed live, and uploaded to his YouTube channel.

“The Metal Years” Interview
While a member of W.A.S.P., Holmes participated in the filming of the documentary film, The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years. The film included interviews with many well known heavy metal personalities of the era discussing their lifestyle and the metal scene in late 1980s Los Angeles.
Personal life

Chris Holmes has been married three times. First to Kaylen Rodgers in the late 1980s, then briefly to Lita Ford in the early 1990s. He is now married to Catherine Sarah Holmes, whom he wed in 2012. The couple currently resides in Cannes, France.
