For almost a half decade, Mike Tramp has been on a worldwide journey, touring and living as a modern life nomad, in his quest for personal and artistic freedom and staying true to the idea of the rock n roll troubadour.
Michael Trempenau was born in Denmark, and grew up in Vesterbro with his mother and two brothers, Dennis and Kim. Mike started his musical career singing in a youth group club in Copenhagen called Vesterbro Ungdomsgård, and appears on their first album: Vi lever på Vesterbro (1974). Later, he joined the pop band Mabel, as the lead singer. They recorded four albums and were very popular in Denmark and Spain, with Mike receiving “teen idol” status. In 1978 Mabel won the Danish Song Contest with the song Boom Boom and represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest that year. Mabel moved to New York City and became the Studs in the late 1970s, but then soon broke up.
After the demise of Mabel, Tramp met Vito Bratta and formed White Lion in 1983, the band became very successful in the mid 80’s to early 90’s. White Lion released their debut album Fight to Survive in 1985. The band achieved success with their #8 hit “Wait” and #3 hit “When the Children Cry” from their second album, the double platinum selling Pride. The band continued their success with their third album, Big Game which achieved Gold status and their fourth album Mane Attraction which included a supporting tour. White Lion disbanded in 1992 and not long after their first compilation album The Best of White Lion was released. Later Mike went on to form Freak Of Nature which he released two successful bands with. Shortly after he focused fully on his solo carrier. “Museum” is Mike’s 8th soloalbum since “Capricorn” from 1998.
February 24th 2017, Mike Tramp will release his 10th soloalbum “Maybe Tomorrow” on Mighty Music/Target Group to follow up on his most successful and best selling soloalbum “Nomad” from 2015.
Mike Tramp comments on the forthcoming album:
“Maybe Tomorrow” is my 10th solo album, and twenty years have gone by since my first was released. My songwriting, style and sound is forever cemented in the rock world with “Maybe tomorrow”, and there should be no more doubt or confusion, of who Mike Tramp is, cause this is where I stand and this is where I will remain.
Michael H. Andersen/CEO Target Group:
“Having worked with Tramp on and off for 20 years, it warms my heart to witness his brand of rock’n’roll, both music and image wise, is more vital than ever before”.
