SOULS OF TIDE

ABOUT

Have you ever wondered what 70´s rock band would sound like today?

Souls of Tide is somewhat strangely assembled as the background of these six experienced musicians grew from both rock and metal. The members are known from bands like Trollfest, Wyruz, SARKOM, Porterville, Dead Maple, Matanzick and Opel. This clearly flavors their style and sound to ensure a diverse and colorful musical palette when creating their music. Straight to the point songwriting and melodies with a desire to hook the listeners, are backed with a tight rhythm section alongside a breathing hammond organ. The rude mood rhythm guitars lay the basis for a screaming lead guitar and the table is finally set for the powerful and edgy vocals to establish the mood.

The music is highly influenced by various bands from the 70´s, such as Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and The Doors. Souls of Tide continue their legacy to evolve the music to something different and unique. This all resulted in one stand-alone single, one EP and one full-length album since the beginning in 2014. The last album “Join The Circus” was released in 2016 through Mighty Music. They have played various gigs, festivals in both Norway and Denmark, where they also joined the Quireboys for a UK tour.

“Black Magic” is set for release 22.05.20 On LP and digital.

“47 Double Click” is a tribute song to the city that the band grew up in, 4700 Naestved. The city has, throughout the years, been the center of a metalscene that inspired and developed Murder Among Kings musicwise. The song reminds us that life may be giving some hard knocks and wounds, but the roots remains the same.

Solitude

About

Japan’s SOLITUDE history started in 1996, two ex-members of SACRIFICE (Japan)*, the founding member and main composer Akira Sugiuchi <vo> and the bass player on two of their albums Toru Nishida.
In 1998, they picked up “SOLITUDE” as the name of the band, and they played live for the first time in March 1999. In September, Shingo Ida (ex-BARTOLOMMEO) joined the band, and his distinctive style of melodic guitars has brought a new blood into the band. In November, they recorded two songs, “Virtual Image” and “Eagle Fly”. This recording was used for promotion as “SOLITUDE Demo ’99”.

Their debut album “Virtual Image” was finally released on 5th of September, 2001 from SPIRITUAL BEAST. The album got rave reviews from the underground fanzines and webzines, not just in Japan but in the US and throughout Europe, and requests for interviews flooded in. The reaction was especially overwhelming in Germany, owing to the sampler CD called “Metal Crusade” from “Heavy oder was!?” magazine, which featured the title track “Virtual Image”.
The first drummer’s Yasuo Koyano (ex-RIP RIDE) left the band prior to the release of the album, but the band continued touring with the help drummer, sharing the stage with various bands from METALUCIFER to DEFILED and SIGH. In July 2003, having added Tai Syouda (ex-GUARDIAN’S NAIL, now leading his own band, SEVENTH SON) as a permanent drummer, they flew to Germany to play at “Headbangers Open Air”, where they shared the stage with veterans like BLITZKRIEG, TRESPASS, and KILLER (Belgium) as well as youngsters like STORMWARRIOR, CRYONIC TEMPLE and DOOMSWORD. Their performance was praised by various media, with German “Rock Hard” magazine describing them as “the highlight of the festival”. The fact that many metalheads kept on chanting for SOLITUDE for a while after they left the stage proves the impact they had.
In 2004, they started preparing for a new album, and first recorded “Rainbow Theme” – “Frozen Rainbow” for a SAXON tribute album “Eagleution – A Tribute to Saxon”, put together by Remedy Records in Germany. The recording continued while the band played selected gigs like “Duryu Rock Festival” in Korea, or short tour in Japan, but their uncompromising attitude and personal issues (the death of Akira’s family) delayed the whole process more than they had expected.
The recording, carried out at various points, was finally over and while they were waiting the mixing to be done, at the end of 2008, Syouda decided to leave the band. In later 2009, very famous drummer’s Takamasa “Mad” Ohuchi (ex-ANTHEM) joining SOLITUDE as a permanent member.

In December 2009, after 8 years from the debut album, the long-awaited new album “Brave the Storm” finally hit the stores. The mastering duty was handled by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (THE AGONIST, MASTODON etc).
In January 2011, the band toured Korea and Japan with Swedish sensation Enforcer, with Mean Streak also added for the Japanese dates. In September, “Brave the Storm” was released in Europe on Fastball Music in Germany. In July 2012, the band helped set up a Japan tour for Canada’s Skull Fist, and toured with them and Widow from US. In 2013, they co-hosted the “Japanese Assault Fest”, sharing the stage with GIRLSCHOOL, VEKTOR, FASTKILL, AIR RAID etc.
In April 2014, the band finally started recording a new album. Looking for the kind of sound production they grew up listening, they went into a closed movie theater in Gotenba, Shizuoka, where they brought in the recording equipments, just like Deep Purple did in a hotel, Rainbow did in an old castle etc in the 70’s. With the great ambience and the environment to allow you to play as loud as you want, the place was later modified into a proper recording studio called “Tapestry Recording Studio”. The band appeared at the “Japanese Assault Fest 14” two years in a row (SATAN, HEAVY TIGER, MIDNIGHT MALICE, etc) later that year.

The album was mixed and mastered at Pama Studios in Sweden, by Magnus “Mankan” Sedenberg and Magnus “Maxe” Axelsson respectively, who had worked with such bands as BULLET and CRUCIFIED BARBARA. The stunning artwork was painted by the Italian artist Velio Josto, who had done covers for WARLORD, MEDIEVAL STEEL, OSTROGOTH among others. This album “Reach for the Sky” was released from SPIRITUAL BEAST in June 2015. And the band appeared at the “Japanese Assault Fest 15” (ENFORCER, SUICIDAL ANGELS, DIEMONDS, etc.) , and the band performed Japan tour of more than 20 place until early 2016.

In November 2016, the band appeared at the “Japanese Assault Fest 16” (BLITZKRIEG, ANCIENT BARDS, BIO-CANCER, HITTEN, etc). And In December, “Reach For The Sky” was released in Canada, North America, Mexico by Test Your Metal Records in Canada.
And the great evaluation of that album spread far to England and Europe.

Xaon

ABOUT

An elusive name born amidst Switzerland’s highest mountains. Never quite fitting in any of the numerous galleries metal has to offer, drifting through the extremes whilst juxtaposing finesse and vehemence from an unworldly orchestra, endlessly exploring the vast echoic gloominess of the human mind.

In only a few short years, the combo led by Vincent Zermatten (guitars) and Rob Carson (vocals/orchestrations) has managed to tour the world through the release of their critically acclaimed debut album “The Drift”, notably across Europe with gothic metal monsters SIRENIA and folk metal legends TYR, in Japan with OBSCURA and ARCHSPIRE, in the US with THE VEER UNION, and sharing the stage in festivals across Europe with bands such as MEGADETH, TESTAMENT, EXODUS, GOJIRA, PARADISE LOST, ELUVEITIE and many more.

In 2019, XAON is back with their 2nd album somberly entitled “Solipsis” available through Mighty Music, bringing the band’s grandiose aggressiveness to a whole new level, pummeling their way through a cataclysmic atmosphere while reaching a new majestic apotheosis. This album is set to debut in the spring, which will see the band performing across Europe with SEPTICFLESH and KRISIUN while continuing to prove themselves as an upcoming force around the Metal world.

Pectora

About

From the country that gave us bands like King Diamond, Pretty Maids and Volbeat comes the newcomers of hard hitting melodic Danish heavy metal: Pectora.

Since the formation of the band in 2013 Roskilde based Pectora have released the demo ”Burgeon Of Hate” in 2014 and the EP ”Redemption” in 2017. All of them leading up to their bombastic debut album ”Untaken” to be released through Mighty Music in May 2019.

”Untaken” is produced by the band and mixed and mastered by one of Germany’s leading produceres Orden Ogans Sebastian ”Seeb” Levermann (Orden Ogan, Rhapsody Of Fire, Riot V & Brainstorm) in Greenman Studios.

It’s an album rich on full blown heavy metal from start to finish. Wrapped up in a modern and big production. Pectora shows that heavy metal, in 2019, still is an active force, where old school and new school heavy metal collides and melt together in the best possible way.

The 8 tracks on ”Untaken” showcases a band that knows how to write powerful songs with strong riffs, memorable melodies, harmonies and bombastic sing-a-long choruses, that stick to your brain.
If you are a fan of classic metal, thrash, power or hard rock and if you like your music fast, heavy and slow – Pectora is what you are looking for!

Dominanz

ABOUT

Dominanz is an Extreme Metal band with Black Metal influences hailing from Norway.

Dominanz was formed in 2009, and two years later they released their debut As I Shine. In 2014 Dominanz followed up with the critically acclaimed Noxious. The world press embraced it, and the reviews were overall great. It was darker and definitely stronger then the debut album.

The contributions of guest vocalists Abbath (Immortal), Olav Iversen (Sagh) and Doro Korsvold (Fairy) made the music even more eclectic and varied. Metal-Temple called it a masterpiece and wrote among other; Noxious is a combination of everything that makes extreme metal what it is, and gave it 10/10.

Now over 4 years later they are ready with their third full length, Let the Death Enter. This time they entered Øystein G. Bruns’(Borknagar) Crosound Studio. They used most of 2017/2018 in Crosound studio to make Let the Death Enter as great as it has become. The final touch is made by the mastermind Dan Swanö at Unisound Studio.

On this album Dominanz are more influenced by their roots from the black metal, but for sure keep their atmospheric signature.
