FORCENTURY
About
FORCENTURY is a Danish melodic heavy metal band that embraces music from power metal to progressive metal with an unmistakable classic rock twist that makes their sound timeless. FORCENTURY debuted in 2009 with the album “Vanguard” and are now ready with the follow-up “Revelant”.
FORCENTURY is a motley crew with a very wide range of talents, but the focal point and the foundation of the band is the common love to heavy metal. The band has naturally made it their mission to merge the classic heavy virtues with modern sound and playing style. Thus they draw on both the 80s pioneers (Iron Maiden, Helloween) and the contemporary inheritors (Symphony X, Pagan’s Mind) to collect the best of both camps.
The quintet has existed for four years and from day one a solid work ethic has been their core value – along with great passion for the music that they play. The complex compositions including twin guitars and soaring keyboards, yet always with a thread running through it, are tied together by the distinct classical AOR-sounding, forceful, vibrating vocal of the lead singer Johnn Thunder. The lyrics reveal issues such as the flaws of society, state of the world and the imperfection of man.
“Revelant” is recorded and engineered at the Copenhagen-based Earplug Studio (Mercyful Fate, Hank Shermann’s Demonica, Force of Evil, Fate, Pitchblack, Iron Fire, etc.). It has been mixed and produced at Denmark’s legendary Medley Studios by Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Marco Mendoza, Mike Tramp, Artillery, Oliver Weers, etc.). The artwork for “Revelant” has been made by Swedish artist Monowasp (Fate, Fatal Smile, Rusty Cooley, Dreamscape, Thy Majestie, etc.) and is a continuation of the landscape, machinery and mood of the cover art from the debut album.
