The first single “Fire Up” features guitarist Mike Orlando. D.D. Verni states “I’m psyched to get this disc out, we had a lot of fun and a lot of great players contributed”.
In addition to 18 Overkill full length releases, Verni has 4 releases with his side band The Bronx Casket Co. D.D. Verni continues “so why do a solo record….well I never really stop writing material, and after some time it starts to pile up and take shape and I wonder what it will be. In the past anything that was not Overkill material I would put aside for my other band The Bronx Casket Co, but when I starting pulling these songs together it was clearly not that, and I thought, OK I guess it’s a solo record. The material was kinda Metal and kinda Rock and kinda Punk, so those really are my basic influences.
In Overkill I take all that background and funnel it into our Thrash sound. But these songs were not Thrash but a combination of the other stuff. I would never really have an interest in doing a record that was thrash sounding outside of Overkill, I just don’t think it could be any better. The fun is trying new shit and seeing where it goes for me. I could always do all the instruments myself as I have in the past on projects but thought this could be a good opportunity to try working with some new people. My wife was hearing me thinking out loud and basically said why don’t you just call some guys who’s work you like and see if they would be interested, and so that’s what I did”.

Silvera plays melodic hard rock, inspired by classic hard/heavy rock music. The music is characterized by massive guitar riffs mixed with melodic phrases. Our music contains ideas that traditionally belong in heavy rock, and at the same time our main priority is captivating and catchy choruses. We wish for a revival in our classic hard rock style, adding new ideas to an “old school” genre.
After leaving their previous band METAL GODS (the name was an obvious tribute to Judas Priest), drummer Mike Matthes and bassist Thorsten Lohmann formed a new band together with guitarists Peter Wittke and Sven Strüven in 1983. All of them were friends and even former schoolmates before the band´s formation. Soon after, the band was auditioning singers and their mutual friend Dirk Schröder was also present, although just to hang out. Because none of these singers was fitting into their idea of how the band should sound like, somebody suggested Dirk to give it a try and to everyone´s suprise he blew all his predecessors out of the water. That was the magic moment, in which IRON ANGEL was born.
While the band began to make a name for themselves in the Hamburg City area, one of their demos made it´s way to the office of the newly found label SPV /Steamhammer in late 1984, culminating in the signing of the band and the release of their debutalbum “HELLISH CROSSFIRE”, which became a blueprint for german speed-metal ever since. The following year, the band toured as opening act for King Diamond, right before releasing their second Album “WINDS OF WAR”, which was slightly different in style copared to it´s predecessor. Though more mature and melodic, the lack of fast songs and sinister atmosphere, that were on dispay on the debut album, was quiet noticeable. The reason for that was the bands own debate about their musical direction: One half wanted to become more apealling to the masses, especially to the american market, while the other ones wanted to keep their own way of playing speed-metal. Tensions grew bigger and bigger until in mid 1986, IRON ANGEL decided to call it quits. Peter joined the Thrash-Metal outfit Roots, while Dirk and Mike later joined J.R. Blackmore´s group Superstition.
At the end of the 90s Peter got in touch with Dirk and Mike again, asking them to come along and jam a little. After a couple of sessions they decided to revive IRON ANGEL. In 2000 they intended to enter the studio to record new material, but before that happened, Peter died in a tragic car accident. The recordings were cancelled and the band remained inactive for the next 4 years. In 2004 Dirk and Mike tried to recruit new members for the band and began working on new material, but even 3 years after, they couldn´t find any new suitable members, so they decided to call it quits again. As a sort of parting gift, they presented the EP “BACK FROM HELL”, which was composed of potential material for what was intended to be their comeback album from the early 2000s. A couple of month after the split Sven Strüven died after overdosing on heroin.
It seemed like IRON ANGEL were dead and gone until that one day, when Didy Mackel (ex-Mania, ex-Not fragile) contacted his buddy from back in the day Dirk Schröder via Facebook, that he just witnessed a lot of people wearing IRON ANGEL shirts during a festival. While chatting, the idea of a reunion came to mind. Dirk wrote Mike about it and Didy brought in the two guitarists Jojo Folta and Mitsch Meyer. Everyone met for the first time in September 2014 and the following month it became official: IRON ANGEL were back.
Word got around pretty fast and the band received offers from promoters and festivals all over the world, but before the band played their first show since the 80s, Mike announced his departure in March 2015, since the touring would interfere too much with his everyday work. After considering Mark Cross as a new drummer first, the band ended up recruiting Alexander “Schrotti” Kokatt as Mike´s successor in April of that year. The line-up that played the first live shows since the 1980s was now complete and together they managed to go on tour through south america and beyond. The following year Jojo Folta left IRON ANGEL and was replaced by Robert Altenbach.
2017 was the year the band finally recorded a new studio album.Already back in April 2015 the band wrote the first couple of songs for it and right from the get-go it was set to go back to the band´s speed metal roots. Since Schrotti didn´t commit himself enough to the band anymore, IRON ANGEL decided to look for a new drummer and brought in Maximilian Behr in April. Between June and August 2017 they headed off to Rosenquarz Studios in Lübeck to record their highly anticipated next studio album and in late 2017 the band joined forces with scandinavia´s biggest metal record label Mighty Music. On 4th of May 2018 Iron Angel released their first studio album in 32 years, entitled “HELLBOUND”, and toured throughout Europe, North- and South America, as well as Japan, being the headlining band for most of these shows.
Near the end of that cycle, the band had to undergo yet another change of members with Nino Helfrich replacing Mitsch Meyer. The new incarnation wasted no time and created what would become their fourth album “EMERALD EYES”. Recordings took place between October and December 2019 at DaDaSound Studios near Hamburg and the album is set for release in August of 2020.

“Viva La Rock” is big, bad and beautiful. It reflects the larger than life personality of its creator Marco Mendoza both on and off stage.
The Los Angeles native who has a proud Spanish/Mexican heritage is usually found holding down the bass rock foundation with artists like Neal Schon (Journey), Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Ted Nugent and can currently be found with new classic cock champions The Dead Daisies.
With a hard working ethic that sees him constantly out on the road either with The Dead Daisies or as a solo artist, he was delighted when Mighty Music offered him the opportunity to release an album that could propel his own brand of music to a wider public.
“I am really excited about the release of this album. It will be my first collection of new songs in seven years! I have been extremely busy with the Dead Daisies since 2013 so when the opportunity to get some new music together came along, I jumped at it! I hope you guys have as much fun listening to it as I did recording it!” says Marco.
The album was recorded in Copenhagen with the multi-talented Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes/Mike Tramp/Electric Guitars) at the helm. The Soren/Marco collaboration proved to be the right way forward with the chemistry exploding in the studio, writing and producing some of the finest new rock songs that are screaming out to be heard through a radio somewhere in the world.
“VIVA LA ROCK!! Is a celebration of Music, Life & Rock & Roll, Peace and Love!” states Marco.
With the title track ‘Viva La Rock’ thrusting out of the speakers as a worthy invitation to come and listen, Marco then takes you on a rollercoaster of musical emotions and sounds with a number of potential hit singles like ‘Rocketman’, ‘Sue is on the Run’ and the ballad ‘Leah’. With a cauldron full of influences caressing Marcos Rock sound including blues, funk and R and B, there is something for everyone that loves great music, and for good measure there a little of his past thrown in with a visit to ‘Chinatown’ from Thin Lizzy, complete with a guest appearance by Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus and Danish star Mike Tramp on additional vocals, then the Ted Nugent cover ‘Hey Baby’. Throw it on your stereo or iPod and turn it up loud, you know you want to!
“Viva La Rock” is a major priority release for Scandinavia’s premier rock/metal label Mighty Music, who in recent years has grown to become one of the more important record labels within the genre worldwide, not least due to succesful releases with The Tygers Of Pan Tang, Mike Tramp and Blitzkrieg.
Black Oak County are back!
Upon the release of their debutalbum “Black Oak County”, the band was promised a bright future by the likes of Classic Rock Magazine, Flick of the finger and Metal Hammer.
The album got massive airplay on Danish radio stations P4 and Myrock as well as receiving more than a million plays on Spotify among other online streaming services.
In the fall of 2017, in a period of great success for Black Oak County, singer Niels Beier chose to leave the band and music all together.
But now, Black Oak County are back, stronger than ever, with a new lead singer and a new sound, coupled with the same familiar energetic and powerful statement that people remember from the debut.
Following a long and grueling search for a new lead singer, the band entered a local studio in secrecy, to start the pre-production of brand new material. In this process the line up of the band fell into place.
Black Oak County is now a hard hitting, catchy and hooky power trio consisting of Jack Svendsen (guitars), Mike Svendsen (drums) and René Hjelm (vocals/bass). The band now focus their sound even more upon the melody and the song, mixed, to great effect, with the big and meaty riffs for which the band is known and loved.
“Pretty Pistol” is the first single from the new Black Oak County. Once again, the band went into Hansen Studio, owned by Jacob Hansen (produced the likes of Amaranthe, Pretty Maids, Dizzy mizz Lizzy and Volbeat). Just like the debutalbum, the new single is produced, mixed and mastered by Jonas Haagensen.
“Pretty Pistol” is a cheeky and catchy rock tune, that makes you wonder whether Black Oak County has eaten Tim Christensen (Dizzy Mizz Lizzy) and added some AC/DC and Alice in chains to their sound. “Pretty Pistol” will be released worldwide on August 24, on all digital platforms via Mighty Music.
Jack Svendsen – Guitar
René Hjelm – Bass/vocals
Mike Svendsen – Drums
For fans of Black Sabbath, Corrosion Of Conformity & Lynyrd Skynyrd
Black Swamp Water is old school hard rock and heavy metal with obvious references to the bands like Black Sabbath, Ozzy and Corrosion Of Conformity and with a howdy to the southern rock scene.
The Tue Madsen produced- & mixed debut album “Chapter One” from 2016 gave the band a reputation as a highly energetic live act with great reviews and airplays to follow on both MyRock and National Danish Radio.
Two years after the debut album Black Swamp Water is now ready to release their second album “Distant Thunder” to the world through Mighty Music on August 24th.
An album rich on strong hooks, groovy vibes and southern rock inspired riffs. Blended Brew is releasing their long awaited 2nd album titled “Shove It Down” in May 2020. Since the debut album and the subsequent EP, the band has been really busy.
This album was written, recorded and produced by Jimmy (Vocal+guitar), Sebastian (keys) and Christoffer (Drums) in collaboration with Christian Heyman of Heyman Studios. Everything was recorded live and analog and run on tape machine to acquire as authentic rock sound as possible.
“I feel we have found our very own sound for this album. Maybe we spent a month trying to make the drums sound raw and authentic.” says Jimmy, the lead singer.
The style is rock with big R, and their inspiration from artists such as AC/DC and Deep Purple has made the band focus on the characteristic in their expression in the form of a very strong lead vocal as well as a thick Hammond organ.
The sound the band is based on is inspired by colleagues like Rival Sons and Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown.
“I feel, that we have created a really great rock album and made a sound that I don’t hear from other Danish rock bands!” states Lord Sebastian, on keys.
The goal is now, in collaboration with Mighty Music, Target, Bookinghuset and Happy Duck Management to get the album out on the market and promote it.
“Actually, I was doubting how we could manage recording this album without a bass, but Jimmy picked up the bass and tracked some killer lines. This album is written, produced and delivered by the three of us and I am very proud of that!” Quote Lord Sebastian.
Since the album was recorded, the band has found a 4th member, Lasse, who is ready to be a part of the gang and playing the entire Blended Brew back catalog.
“Now that we’ve found Lasse, I’m so excited to come out and show you what Blended Brew stands for!” Drummer Christoffer ponders.
“Shove It Down” is an album that speaks to people who want to hear catchy rock tunes that where you can feel the energy from the band playing it live in the studio!
The end of the album shows a very sensitive side in their last song “Don’t Say No” where Jimmy on vocals and Lord Sebastian on piano show their professionalism in a very felt rock ballad.
Jimmy Månsson: Vocal & Guitar
Lord Sebastian Groset: Piano, Organ & Blues Harp
Christoffer Beck: Drums
Lasse H. Mortensen: Bass

Blitzkrieg was formed in Leicester in October 1980. Their first demo, made in November that year, secured them their first recording deal with Neat Records resulting in the famous Blitzkrieg/Buried Alive single & a track on the Lead Weight compilation album. The band gigged extensively in England but split in 1981. The members went their own separate ways but Brian Ross & Mick Moore stayed together to form the heart of Avenger.
The band released 2 singles on Neat: Ross then left to join Satan with whom he recorded the classic Caught In The Act album which was released by Roadrunner & licensed to Neat for the UK. After the success of the Satan album & European tours, the band’s direction became unclear & Ross decided to leave & concentrate on managing the North East band Lone Wolf (Brian performed vocals on the single Your Move). Now Ross decided that it was time to record the Blitzkrieg LP that had been planned way back in 1981, entitled A Time Of Changes: it was released in 1985 on Neat/Roadrunner with recruits from the previous bands brought in to record the album.
Meanwhile, Metallica covered the song Blitzkrieg on their Creeping Death EP. In 1991 the band made a mini album called Ten Years Of Blitzkrieg for Roadrunner to celebrate their tenth anniversary, re-recording the Blitzkrieg /Buried Alive tracks together with 3 new numbers. In 1995 Neat Records re-emerged with a vengeance & immediately signed Blitzkrieg to a new 3 album deal: Unholy Trinity, Ten & The Mists Of Avalon were the result (also released in Japan on Pony Canyon Records). Another boost from Metallica came when the USA rockers again covered the Blitzkrieg track on their Live Shit box set & their 1998 album Garage Inc. 2002 saw the release of their new album Absolute Power on Edgy Records to rave reviews worldwide.
A spate of interviews in Europe, the UK & the USA followed with a string of festival dates in Europe (& the US) which helped push the band back into the spotlight once more. Absolute Power was released in Brazil on Hellion Records & as an LP in Sweden by TPL Records. Following the release of their double Anthology CD on Sanctuary Records the band released their first live album on Metal Nation Records (again owned by Jess Cox). Following the release of Absolutely live, the band went on to record the critically acclaimed “Sins and Greed” which was released in mid 2005. In 2007 the band signed to German label Armageddon Records and released “Theatre of the Damned”, which was co-produced by Saxon frontman Biff Byford after Blitzkrieg opened for Saxon a year earlier on their UK tour. Moving into 2012 sees the band now into their 32nd anniversary year and gearing up for the follow up release to “Theatre..”
After playing in bands like Mercyful Fate and King Diamond, the legendary guitarist and songwriter Michael Denner is ready to release DENNERS INFERNO!
“Fountain Of Grace” is the new EP release from Mercyful Fate guitarist Michael Denner and his new band Denner’s Inferno.
Denner’s Inferno was created in the ashes of his former band Trickbag in 2018.
Mainly to transform the band from 70’s progressive hardrock to a more current vibe with new original songs and a new line up.
Michael Denner comments: “After a lot of thoughts around what to do next I ended up doing what turned up to be the exact right move towards the music style I really love ; 70’s inspired Heavy Rock. The choice of team for this one came very natural. Bjarne and Flemming I’ve known for decades and exactly what they are capable to do with the rhythm section, and a good vibe to go with it. And by introduction from Mighty Music’s Michael H. Andersen I found the golden voice of Chandler Mogel. A New Yorker with deep roots in the same music style as I love to do. This time I chose a selection of songs I wrote with good people during the last few years and a few obscure covers of songs which have made an impact on my taste in music since my journey as a heavy rock guitarist started many years ago now. This album is for the listeners who like their music hard and heavy with strong beautiful vocals and some No Nonsense playing to back it up. Enjoy !!!!!!”

ELECTRIC GUITARS ARE READY WITH A BRAND NEW LIVE ALBUM
In the spring of 2018 Electric Guitars played a Danish tour, recording all the concerts. Now they have chosen 10 songs from 10 different cities, hence the record title “10 Songs 10 Cities”, and mixed it the old way by Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Mike Tramp) in the Medley Studio in Copenhagen.
Many have requested a live album from the band and the record offers songs from their entire back catalog of three studio recordings (“Electric Guitars” from 2013, “String Fever” from 2015 and “Rock’n’Roll Radio” from 2017). The band has not been active for almost two years as both guitarists have been busy touring in Denmark and the rest of the world: Soren Andersen with Glenn Hughes & Jesper Binzer and Mika Vandborg with Ida Nielsen, Claus Hempler and Love Shop.
However, this is about to change now.
For the new live album marks the start of a series of concerts and several scheduled releases and touring activity starting in December 2019.
“It was some kind of a trip to listen to the recordings after almost a 2-year break“, Soren Andersen says. “It is played as if we would never play together again, and the “now or never” energy is fantastic when it comes to Electric Guitars. I am really proud to play and work with the three other guys in the band. It’s bang on energy…”
Mika Vandborg elaborates: “That’s how we do it live, and it shouldn’t be changed in the studio just because you can. Nothing is overdubbed or replaced. And we have one song from almost each city we played at that tour on the album, and it feels really nice to be sharing that experience again with people and fans of the band.”
