Mighty Music are proud to welcome Forsaken from Malta to the family. Forsaken was formed in 1990 and is considered one of the true survivors of the epic doom metal genre.

Albert Bell, founder, lyricist and bass player of Forsaken  “Signing with Michael and Mighty Music is a crucial step forward for the band. I have personally known Michael since the earliest days of the band. He is both a fan and a close friend of the band. His support and friendship are two important qualities that tipped the scale in Mighty’s favor in the process of deciding on a new home for Forsaken. Moreover, from a business perspective, Mighty possesses all the requisite qualities we were looking for this time round.  Mighty Music has grown considerably in stature and reputation and hosts some really awesome bands, and we are all really elated to be in such great company.  Fans can expect our first full-length release with Mighty Music this fall. “Pentateuch” has all the ingredients epic doom maniacs have come to expect from the band – killer songs laced with soaring, passionate vocals from Leo, raging, fret-shredding solos from Sean, and head crushing riffs built on a very solid rhythm section. Combining with Simeon to build this foundation for the band is something that comes natural to us and is always a real pleasure.  I am also really happy with the lyrics for this album….I really poured my soul into them. Every band member left no stone unturned into making this release a most worthy addition to our long history and discography.  It has really been a long time coming, but the wait will be worth it and we are really chuffed that a label of Mighty Music’s calibre has taken Forsaken and our new spawn “Pentateuch” on board, with the prospect of further releases in the future as our alliance with Mighty continues to grow”.

Michael H. Andersen, Mighty Music “Ever since I visited Albert Bell on Malta back in 1996, I regret not having signed Forsaken to my label earlier. I’ve been a huge fan of the band since I heard the doom cult classic “Where Angels Have Fallen” for the first time in 1992-1993. The fact that Forsaken now is a part of my family, makes my old doom heart so proud“.

Forsaken are currently doing the final touches on their highly anticipated first album in six years. “Pentateuch” is the title and it will be released on the 13th of October on LP, CD and digital. A release concert is held in Malta on the 14th of October in a new venue called The Garage in Zebbug and afterwards the band will be heading on European tour.

On Freddy And The Phantom’s fifth album, A Universe From Nothing, the band embark on a new epic chapter in the history they have been writing over the past decade. The door to the future is open and the band now finds itself in a dystopian and dangerous universe, where the threat of doom is constantly lurking in the shadows. There is no easy answer to the highly conceptual new album, which has been inspired by both Dante’s The Divine Comedy, Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time, and the world’s current climate crisis. These heavy themes have also resulted in a heavier and tougher musical expression. A musical transformation that has sent the band into a heavy and scifi-rock universe, but without leaving their basic DNA of blues music behind.

“In order to devise the album, we have drawn on other musical and literary expressions than previously, looking both forwards and backwards in time for inspiration. Bach, Sabbath, Dio, Mastodon and Rival Sons, just to name a handful, have all pointed us in this new direction. Basically, we feel that right now we have found our own sound and niche, and because we don’t try to sound like a certain decade anymore, I feel that we have become more timeless than ever”, says the band’s lead singer Frederik ‘Freddy’ Schnoor.

A Universe From Nothing was recorded in Medley Studios in Copenhagen and produced by Ken Rock and the band itself. The basic tracks of drums, bass, keys, and guitars were, for the first time in the band’s history, tracked live throughout the record. Therefore, you get the sound of a band peaking after 10 years of live-interaction and subsequently, ‘Freddy’ put on his raw, juicy, vocals. The studio’s owner, the guitar guru Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Electric Guitars), has also contributed with a masterful solo in pure blackmore style on the track River Of Hate.

A Universe From Nothing is out on Mighty Music / SPV on April the 24th, 2020.
The band plays a release concert in Copenhagen on April the 24th, venue TBA,
FATP is already booked for this year’s Jelling Festival, and will play summer concerts as well as a fall tour in Denmark – soon to be announced.

Get ready for a Danish rock n roll explosion!!
Their hit song “Geordie” from last year’s well received debut album “Sin & Tonic” has now reached 500.000 plays on Spotify (over 1 mio on all digital streaming platforms) and 200.000 views on Youtube and the band has just been confirmed for a huge European tour.

But if you thought this was it for Junkyard Drive you are wrong! 2018 will not be any kind of stagnant or boring for this Danish hard rock band!
Junkyard Drive has just finished their new album ‘Black Coffee’, which is recorded in Medley Studios in Copenhagen, with Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Mike Tramp, Jesper Binzer) as producer.
The album is now ready to be released world wide through Mighty Music on September 1st 2018.
“Black Coffee” contains 11 hard rocking tracks. Just the way it should be, with a band that has developed a lot since their formation. And you can actually hear that it in the sound!
In addition to the new record, Junkyard Drive played at this years Nordic Noise Festival, When Copenhell Freezes Over, and not at least at this years Sweden Rock Festival site by site with bands like Judas Priest, Ozzy and Iron Maiden.

Since the danish rockers came home from their EU-tour with Eclipse in late 2019, they have been dying to write some new material.

Junkyard Drive is well known for their good time Rock N’ Roll, but this time, things has becomed more serious, dark and melancholic.

“Mama” is a tragic story, about a young man dealing with his sorrow and anger, after the loss of his mother.

Leadsinger Kris Johansen says:

“Everyone knows the feeling of loosing a familymember or a close friend, and it is so difficult to just hold on and live your life, when the feeling of emptiness is taking over.”

“I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been asked. That if I could do it all over again, what would I change? It’s a tricky question and for an artist, sometimes an unfair one.

Because when we looked back, hindsight is always 20/20 and we know it all, and familiar with the Monday morning quarterback scenario, where everyone knows where he should have thrown the ball or kicked it. What the hell did I know when I walked into the recording studio the first time in 1976 to record my first album? The answer is nothing, and I can honestly admit, it didn’t really change 10 years or 20 years later on. With every album I recorded or every tour I finished I always came home with so much more knowledge than when I started it, and always wished I’d known it all at the beginning.

I often listen to my many previous solo albums and say to myself I should have sung it this way or changed the melody that way. At the same time, I accept that it was the best I could do at that moment! I worked with what I had and knew. This life doesn’t often give you a Second Time Around, but if it does – consider yourself lucky and grab it. The songs on “Second Time Around” have been with me for a long, long time. I remember writing the first song “When She Cries”, October 2, 2005 the day after my daughter Isabel had been born. It was like a whole new door opened and all these songs came out over the next few months along with a whole other bunch of songs, which have all ended up on different albums. You can say it was the most creative time in my 44 years in the rock’n’roll uniform.

Still it was also a time where I was floating around between good and bad and didn’t know where I should go with my career. I was very confused and had no one in my life I could trust to guide me. Should I follow the idea of a new version of White Lion, which at that time I was in the middle of and kept me awake all night and many times left me with so much regret and shame? Or should I continue with what I had started in 1996, when I recorded my first solo album “Capricorn” and became a solo artist, and by 2005 had a total of four solo albums behind me that actually told me, it is clear who Mike Tramp is as an artist. But very unusual for Mike Tramp, I was lost and could not find anything to hold on to.

My second child had just been born, life was suddenly different, and my rock’n’roll world was changing faster than I could run.

The songs on “Second Time Around” are some of my favorite compositions, and for many years I have gone around with a feeling that they were never given a real chance. I have missed them in my live shows and I have missed singing them. So when I made the decision to rebuild and resurrect this bunch of songs, with the help of my trusted brothers in rock’n’roll who have all been a part of my last seven solo albums in different ways, it was truly a chance to go for a “Second Time Around”, and this time I grabbed it, clear in my mind and focused like never before. A great moment of embracing that the songs I have written always clearly expresses who Mike Tramp is.
I am proud of these songs. They are like my other albums and 100% representation of who Mike Tramp is. If aliens came down to earth and happened to pick up “Second Time Around” as the first Mike Tramp album they heard, I would be truly proud and confident that all of my DNA, would be in this album”. Mike Tramp, somewhere on the road 2020.

Denmarks melodic heavy metal band MERIDIAN are releasing their third album “Margin Of Error” as the follow-up to the critically acclaimed “Breaking The Surface” from 2016.
It’s the bands third album, but it contains a couple of firsts. It’s the first full album made with guitarist and producer Marco Angioni, and it’s the first album written and recorded with a stable line-up, all sharing the same musical vision.

Work on the album began in 2017 where various writing sessions resulted in the basic foundation for eight new tracks. The band went straight into Death Island Studios to try out, and test drive the new working relationship with Marco at the helm. Four songs where recorded and released as the digital EP “The Fate Of Atlantis” in March 2018.
In early 2018 Martin and Marco took some time off to write and record a new album with former Accept singer David Reece. The album “Resilient Heart” is a big success and showcase, apart from Reece as the great singer he is, also Martin and Marco as the talented songwriters and performers they are.
In the summer of 2018 the band finished off the songwriting and headed back into the studio to record the remaining seven songs for the album.

Musically the songs varies from melodic rock like the first single “Second Best”, over hard hitting metal anthems and slowpaced heavy monsters to the all out thrashy “Disconnect”, which contains guest appearance from Steve Smyth (One Machine, Nevermore, Testament etc.) on lead guitar.
It’s a varied musical landscape, but all 11 tracks are well crafted songs with strong vocal melodies and memorable choruses you can sing along to. Lyrically the songs deals with important topics like war (Off To War), death (Circle The Drain), global warming (The Fate Of Atlantis), over personal topics like mental illness (Fragments Of A Life) and fighting inner demons (The Devil Inside Us All), to dealing with modern day life where everybody is constantly online (Disconnect). “Margin Of Error” is the new album from Meridian. It’s the most coherent and well crafted collection of songs from a band that’s better than ever. Meridian is heading out on the road in 2019 to support the album.

The band recorded its first album “Psychological Torment” (1990) in Germany with Coroner’s drummer and Marky Marquis as art director. The band then produced the second album “Contamination Rises” (1992) at Morrisound’s Studios in Tampa, Florida with the help of Scott Burns.

Nonexist was formed in 2000 when Johan Reinholdz presented some death/thrashmetal demo-tracks for Bengt ”Wez” Wenedikter of Swedish WAR-music (Darkane, Defleshed, Naglfar etc). Reinholdz’ other band Andromeda had recently signed a deal with WAR and now it was time for Nonexist to sign the papers. Ex-Arch Enemy/Furbowl/Carnage vocalist Johan Liiva was recruited along with Dark Funeral/Defleshed-drummer Matte Modin.

With no rehearsing under their belts the guys entered Abyss Studios in November 2001 and cut the tracks for the debutalbum “Deus Deceptor”, which was released in May 2002.

Following the release of the album Nonexist became nonexistent as the members went their separate ways. Reinholdz with Andromeda, Liiva with Hearse and Modin with Dark Funeral and Raised Fist among others. Reinholdz continued to write songs during the years to come, most of which were discarded though.

However, in 2009 a collection of Nonexist-songs that were up to snuff emerged, the title “From My Cold Dead Hands” came about and Reinholdz started focusing on getting a sophomore album finished. In 2011 Liiva joined the band again and a contract was signed with American label Pivotal Rockorings. 2012 was spent cutting the album at Multipass Studios with Reinholdz producing and mixing. “From My Cold Dead Hands” was released in November. Nonexist made their first gig ever at the Scorched Tundra Festival in Gothenburg, Sweden in December 2012. Around this time, the band’s music also made its way onto the videogame Rock Band.

Early 2013 the band signed with Japanese label Trooper Entertainment for a physical release of the album. This edition of “From My Cold Dead Hands” features three bonus tracks: cover-versions of Coroner’s Masked Jackal, Merciless’ “Realm of the Dark” and Eucharist’s “Greeting Immortality”.

In 2014 Nonexist started recording album number three entitled “Throne of Scars”. The style of the songs retained the atmosphere from the previous album; dark, intense, varied and heavy while also adding some new influences in the mix. The band signed a deal with Danish label Mighty Music, who released it in the autumn of 2015.

In November 2015 Johan Liiva quit the band and Reinholdz took over the frontman-duties doing both guitar and vocals in the studio and also live – where the band now is active with Faithful Darkness-members Johan Aldgård and Joakim Strandberg Nilsson, as well as Andromeda-bassplayer Linus Abrahamson completing the line-up.

With Reinholdz now also doing tbe vocals Nonexist has releasedThe New Flesh” EP, “In Prase of Death” EP and now the band’s fourth full-length album is due, entitled Like the Fearless Hunter.

The new album takes off in the dark and violent death metal vein of the last ep, but also contains crushing midtempo-heaviness – (“Together We Shall Burn”), melodic thrashmetal-mayhem (“Strictly Sadistic Intent”), hyperspeed hardcore/punk-spiced violence (“Litany of Poison”) as well as sombre, progressive darkness (“Emerging from a World Below”) and even some instrumental shredding (“Fear Corrodes the Soul”).

The album is also graced and enhanced by the presence of some truly terrific guests: Mikael Stanne, Rogga Petersson, Chris Amott and Markus Johnsson to name a few.
